Wild berry chia jam in 5 minutes (no sugar, no boiling)

0

Gorgeous, because you often ask me if and how you can eat jam, I have prepared for you a super easy, fast and delicious recipe for berry jam, without sugar 🙂

It can be prepared with both fresh and frozen fruits, which means that it’s all year-round 🙂

Products
300 g frozen berries mix (*you can also use them fresh)
30 g of chia seeds
35 g of maple syrup

* Fresh and frozen fruits contain different amounts of water. Therefore, if you try fresh, the amount of chia may vary slightly, because it has to pick up a different amount of moisture 🙂

Method
In a pan/saucepan (preferably non-stick), mash the berries on a low heat. They will become a mush in no time (frozen ones should release more liquid). After removing them from the heat, add the chia and maple syrup. Let the chia absorb the moisture for 15-20 minutes. Store in the refrigerator for 3-4 days (however, it is unlikely to last that long because it is very tasty) 🙂

It can be eaten on a slice of bread, with pancakes, with waffles, with fruit or on its own 🙂

* If you do not have maple syrup on hand, use honey, but add it when the mixture has cooled.
