Baked pasta

0

Gorgeous ❤️, I offer you one, more unusual pasta recipe. I had an idea for baked spaghetti in the beginning, but it didn’t go well because they are too long and you need a dish that is exactly their size.

I changed some things in the preparation and the recipe turned out great with fusilli:

1) it is easier with pasta like fusilli (they fit easily in any dish and shape);
2) tomatoes are placed in circles on top so as not to burn the pasta (as when making lasagna);
3) the olive oil is mixed with the tomato paste to be distributed evenly;
4) the yellow cheese is added at the end, just to bake for a few minutes.

Like everything in life, this recipe has advantages and disadvantages 🙂 The advantage is that you do not cook anything, do not stir, do not burn, do not prepare sauce separately, the disadvantage is that it is baked for almost 1 hour.

Baked pasta (3 servings)
Ingredients

250 g wholemeal pasta (fusilli or other) I have not tried gluten-free
1 tbsp. olive oil
200-250 g tomato sauce/tomato pasta
chopped peppers/mushrooms (vegetables are optional)
garlic, onion
spices salt, pepper, thyme/oregano or others
basil
2-3 tomatoes cut into circles (to cover the paste)
500 g/ml water
100 g yellow cheese/mozzarella
Salt (do not forget it)

Preparation
The pasta is placed in a tray (for the above amount I used a round tray 23-24 cm in diameter). Put the tomato paste in a separate bowl, add olive oil and spices, stir and pour over the paste. Then add the water (there should be plenty of liquid so that the paste is covered) and the vegetables.
Stir well so that there is liquid everywhere evenly. Finally, add the sliced tomatoes, cover the whole dish in 1 or even 2 layers (if the pasta remains “sticking out”, it will burn or become too hard).
Bake for 45-50 minutes in a preheated 180 degree oven. Shortly before removing, sprinkle with yellow cheese/mozzarella to bake until golden.
